China charges disgraced politician Bo Xilai with corruption

BEIJING - China has charged disgraced former senior politician Bo Xilai with bribery, abuse of power and corruption, state news agency Xinhua said on Thursday, paving the way for his trial.

Prosecutors in the eastern city of Jinan in Shandong province indicted Bo on the charges on Thursday, Xinhua said.Bo's wife, Gu Kailai, and his former police chief, Wang Lijun, have both been jailed over the scandal stemming from the murder of British businessman Neil Heywood.
