Clinton and Trump don't shake

Presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton did not greet each other with a customary handshake at the beginning of their debate in St Louis on Sunday night.

With the drama preceding the event reaching perhaps unprecedented levels, the first question of the debate to Clinton focused on the tone of the campaigns, with the Democratic nominee refraining from mentioning Trump's various scandals and attacks.

Trump's opening remarks also avoided the dramas that have been the focus of immense media attention throughout the weekend, instead focusing on areas where he claims the US is weak or failing, including in foreign policy, where he mentioned the Iran deal as an example of the country's wrong path.
