Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman toured Israel’s northern border area accompanied by Chief of Staff Lt.Gen. Gadi Eisenkot and other senior officers on Tuesday.

Liberman, Eisenkot and other senior IDF officers, which included Maj.Gen Aviv Kochavi, the outgoing head of the Northern Command, as well as officers from the Northern Command and the IAF, visited observation posts, received briefings from field commanders and met with local mayors.It was the last tour with Maj.Gen Kochavi before he assumes the role of Deputy Chief of Staff.

Liberman thanked him for his service in his position and wished good luck to his successor, Maj.Gen. Yoel Strick who was the head of The Home-front Command.
