Food and energy company Strauss will receive 4 million cubic meters of gas for its northern factories from Delek, following a deal signed on Tuesday. The company said the move reflected its commitment to cleaner energy.

Delek will also be responsible for converting the Strauss plants to natural gas.

“Adopting natural gas in industry early is the right step for Israeli industry, which will leap to efficiency in factory operations, reduction in air pollution and significant savings in expenses,” Delek CEO Avi Ben-Asayag said.
