Elections chair to media: Don't broadcast Labor conference

Central Election Committee chairman Justice Elyakim Rubinstein ordered news stations to refrain from broadcasting a Labor party press conference on Monday.

The ruling came after Rubinstein ordered a similar ban on broadcasting a Likud conference wherein Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu announced MK Moshe Kahlon would take over as director of the Israel Lands Authority. Rubenstein said that the broadcast was a form of election propaganda, and could not be broadcast so close to elections.
