Erdogan: Like Islamic State, Assad regime in Syria a terror group

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday compared the acts of Syrian President Bashar Assad's regime to those of Islamic State fighters, saying the government in Damascus was waging "state terror."
"We cannot leave their fate into the hands of the murderer Assad who is waging a state terror," AFP quoted Erdogan as saying in a speech.
Erdogan, whose government has opposed the Assad regime during Syria's three-and-a-half year civil war, labeled both the Damascus government and Islamic State as terror groups.
