Fellowship distributes food, clothing vouchers for Passover

The Fellowship of Christians and Jews will distribute vouchers to 20,000 children in welfare centers across Israel and their families to purchase food and clothes for Passover.
“Children are not guilty of the distress into which they were born,” Head of the Fellowship, Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein said in a statement, “They deserve an opportunity to disconnect from the difficult circumstances of their lives and create their own better future.”
“In recent years, we have seen that one of the everyday hardships of children is that their families don’t have the ability to provide them with appropriate clothing and many are content with old clothes that do not match the their size or the season,” he added, “Moreover, many of the families are unable to provide their children a hot meal at home, let alone a holiday meal.”
The initiative, which cost the Fellowship over NIS 14 million, includes a NIS 300 gift card for the clothing store Fox as well as NIS 500 to purchase groceries at the supermarket chain Mega and is aimed at “helping the needy in an anonymous and honorable manner.”
