PARIS - Former French prime minister Francois Fillon won the conservative ticket for next year's presidential election on Sunday with 68.4 percent of the votes, according to partial results from just over half of polling stations.

The partial results were broadly similar to early results showing Fillon beating ex-premier Alain Juppe.
