Flash floods hit southern Israel as Rosh Hashana holiday ends

As Rosh Hashana drew to a close, extreme weather hit Israel once again – with flash floods gushing through the country's South on Tuesday evening.
Rain warnings would continue through Wednesday afternoon for both the Arava and Judean desert regions, Israel Meteorological Service forecasters said.
The bout of precipitation followed a string a five days last week, in which most of the country endured unprecedented hazy conditions, accompanied by unseasonable heat.
