Gaddafi defies criticism, meets freed Lockerbie bomber on Libyan TV

Despite strong criticism from Britain and the US, Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi met convicted Lockerbie bomber Abdel Baset Megrahi on Libyan TV, the BBC reported on Saturday. According to the report, the pair were shown embracing and talking, while Gaddafi also spoke to Megrahi's family. Meanwhile, the UK Foreign Office has denied claims Megrahi was released to ensure trade deals with Libya.
