Gafni: I'll block any measure raising prices by 1 shekel

The Knesset Finance Committee will not approve the government's price increases in the near future, committee chairman MK Moshe Gafni decided on Thursday.

A new tax levied on meat was already approved by the Industry, Trade and Labor Ministry. Gafni ordered an investigation into whether the measure would mean a price increase. If it turns out that the measure results in an increase of even one shekel, he said, the request will be denied.
