Police investigation into Netanyahu-noose poster okayed

The chief legal advisor to the government authorized on Tuesday a police investigation into a poster displayed at a Jerusalem art institute that depicted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu alongside a noose.

The poster, which was later removed from the walls of the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, depicted Netanyahu's head superimposed onto a background that was directly taken from the famous poster used for US President Barack Obama's election campaign. Next to the prime minister was a hanging rope, with the word ROPE emblazoned across the poster.

The investigation has been approved on suspicion of incitement.
