Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel spoke with Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon on Friday about coalition efforts to counter ISIS, according to Pentagon Press Secretary Navy Rear Adm. John Kirby.

In a statement summarizing the conversation, Kirby said the two discussed a range of regional issues and reaffirmed the strength of the US-Israel security relationship. Today's phone call followed the seventh meeting between Hagel and Ya'alon, which took place at the Pentagon in October, according to the US Defense Department.
