Hatnua supports haredi enlistment bill despite flaws

July 7, 2013 12:18

Tzipi Livni's Hatnua faction announced Sunday that it was supporting the Peri Committee's bill to increase haredi enlistment in the army, despite the proposed legislation being "partial and not free of defects."

Hatnua stated that it opposes the "discrimination in favor of Hesder yeshiva students" that is currently displayed in the bill.

The bill is expected to be approved by the cabinet on Sunday, after which it will be brought to the Ministerial Committee for Legislation.
