The Hebrew University issued a statement on Tuesday condemning the unauthorized demonstration at its Mount Scopus campus against the drafting of Christian Arabs to the army.

“In a flagrant violation of university regulations, the demonstration was not coordinated in advance with the university and the protesters refused to identify themselves. The university maintains an orderly process for authorizing demonstrations in advance, but in this instance it was deprived of the opportunity to do so. The police were called to the campus to deal with the situation,” the statement read.
