The IDF Spokesperson's unit confirmed an earlier report on a red alert that was activated in the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council and in the Ashkelon industrial zone, and said the rocket shot toward Israel fell inside the Gaza Strip.

In response to the rocket fire, the Israeli Air Force struck Hamas targets inside Gaza.
