An IDF tank destroyed a Hamas base in the southern Gaza Strip on Monday afternoon in the latest in a series of cross border events throughout the day.

The army said the strike came in response to gunshots that were fired toward IDF forces near the Gaza border.

Earlier in the day, a rocket launched from Gaza landed in southern Israel. There were no injuries in the incident. The IDF retaliated to the projectile attack with artillery and tank strikes on Hamas targets in the Strip.
