Indian embassy to hold Yoga Day

The Indian Embassy will be sponsoring a yoga happening in Tel Aviv on Tuesday, June 21 for the second year in a row, to mark International Yoga day. Among the events that will be held are several yoga sessions, lectures, therapies, mind relaxation exercises, special sessions for children and an Indian dance and music performance.
Last year some 2,000 people participated.
The UN has declared June 21 International Yoga Day, something pushed by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a yoga enthusiast, during his maiden address to the UN in 2014. “Yoga is an invaluable gift of our ancient tradition,” Modi said. “Yoga embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature.”
