Iranian-German arrested for breaking Iran embargo

Iranian-German arrested

German authorities say they have arrested a 52-year-old Iranian man suspected of violating an embargo against Iran by exporting equipment that can be used in helping to make long-range missiles. Germany's federal prosecutors said in a statement Saturday the man, identified only as Moshan A. was detained after a Friday search of several residences and business in cities across the country. Two other men are suspected of assisting the operation. Prosecutors allege the group exported a sintering furnace, a high-tech kiln for firing ceramics able to withstand extreme heat, worth €1.4 million ($2.08 million) to Iran in July 2007. They said the group was in the process of selling a second such furnace to a bogus company in Asia that would have sent the equipment to Iran.
