A top Iranian official on Wednesday called on Russia not to repeat US comments regarding Iran's nuclear status, according to the Iranian news agency, ISNA.

Chairman of Iran's Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Allaedin Boroujerdi's request came after Russian President Dmitry Medvedev claimed that Iran was approaching the capability to build a nuclear weapon.

"Iran's nuclear activities are clear and transparent and the IAEA inspectors can visit our sites and their cameras are monitoring Iran's nuclear work," the lawmaker said, rejecting Medvedev's claim as "fully illogical."
