Israeli Arab helped two relatives to get to Syria to fight alongside Islamist extremists

The Shin Bet and Israel Police arrested an Israeli Arab resident of the Negev village of Hura after he allegedly helped two relatives, also Israeli citizens, make their way to Syria in order to fight alongside Islamist rebels.

The suspect, Idris Taleb Ahmed Abu Alkiaan, 23, belongs to a Salafi extremist group, police said.

Alkiaan was arrested on April 28, although the information was not authorized for publication until Tuesday.
