Six suspects were arrested in Jerusalem overnight by Israel Police forces under suspicion of incitement to violence and terrorism on social media networks.
In the weeks prior to their arrest, all suspects used popular social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram to spread their inciteful messages. They expressed their support of terror organizations and encouraged their following of thousands to carry out acts of violence against Israelis, according to police.
During the arrest, forces seized the computers and other media materials that were used by the suspects for purposes of incitement.
In a separate arrest that took place overnight, Border Police and Israel Police forces apprehended two additional suspects- a father and a son who are both residents of Hebron. Israeli security forces confiscated a pistol, a shotgun and ammunition. The two suspects are undergoing questioning.
