The Israeli mission to the United Nations scored an impressive diplomatic coup on Friday after the General Assembly pass a measure sponsored by Jerusalem which calls on the world body to summon its powers in order to encourage entrepreneurship and development.

The Israeli-sponsored resolution passed despite pressure by Arab governments to torpedo the measure.

The resolution called on world governments to make more efforts to encourage and subsidize entrepreneurial initiatives as well as to remove bureaucratic red tape.

The measure is likely to be included in the UN's 15-year budgetary policy as it relates to global development goals.
