An Israeli tourist on a family trip to Spain was killed Sunday during an attempted robbery.

According to the suspect, the Israeli resisted the theft of his suitcases from his car and collapsed on the spot.

Israel's Foreign Ministry stated that representatives in Madrid were assisting the family in transferring the body of the deceased back to Israel.

At this stage in the investigation details surrounding the death are unclear.
