Jerusalem mayor: Change airport symbol from TLV to ‘JLM’

Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat called on the Knesset Economics Committee Tuesday to change the letters denoting Ben Gurion Airport from TLV to “JLM,” to encourage greater tourism in the capital.
“Branding the airport’s letters to represent the capital of Israel will put Jerusalem at the center and accelerate the tourism to the capital,” he said. Noting that Jerusalem “is once again the beating heart of Israel,” the mayor emphasized the importance of encouraging its growth whenever possible.
“The momentum of development has been seen in every corner of the city, and everyone wants to be part of the swing of unprecedented development in Jerusalem,” he said.
