Thousands of Jordanian soldiers have been deployed to the Iraq border, Jordanian government officials told NBC News on Tuesday.

According to the officials, the deployment comes as a way to intimidate Islamic State and to prevent Islamic State terrorists from sneaking into the country.

Jordan has intensified its campaign against the extreme Islamist group after terrorists burned one of its military's pilots alive.
