Katz decries Israeli-Palestinian two-state solution

Transportation Minister Israel Katz (Likud Beytenu) on Wednesday voiced his opposition to the proposed two states for two nations solution for resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Army Radio reported.

Katz, at a plenary meeting of the Yesha Council, said he disagreed with the establishment of a Palestinian state and an additional freeze of settlement construction, according to the army-run radio station. In contrast to the position held by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on the matter, Katz reportedly said the correct solution to the conflict would be a long-term interim agreement.
