Labor MK Omer Bar Lev said that the rocket that was fired from Gaza on Ashkelon this morning demonstrates that the violent escalation in the West Bank will result in an escalation from Gaza, Israel Radio reported.

Bar-Lev told the Radio the problem lies with the government's failure to take part in negotiations and reach a settlement with the Palestinians. Bar-Lev said that Labor would support any initiative that would lead to a two-state solution but that this would not require his party to join the coalition.
