IDF Major Hagai Ben Ari, who was critically injured two and a half years ago in Operation Protective Edge, died Tuesday evening, Channel 2 reported Wednesday.

Ben Ari was shot in the head by a sniper during the operation in Gaza.

Thirty-three-years-old from the Nov community in the Golan Heights, Ben Ari left behind a wife and three children.
