August 13, 2009 03:49

Damascus-based senior Hamas official Khaled Mashaal told the Qatari Al-Watan newspaper that there has been no real breakthrough in the prisoner exchange negotiations with Israel, Israel Radio reported overnight Wednesday. According to the report, Mashaal claimed Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was ignoring the issue of captive IDF soldier Gilad Schalit, in an attempt to cause the terror group to lower its demands. Mashaal's interview with the Arab paper will be published next week, the radio station reported.
