The Ministerial Legislative Committee on Monday morning approved a contentious draft law that will allow ultra-Orthodox Israelis to receive exemptions from serving in the IDF.
The bill will now be passed on to the Ministry of Defense and the Attorney-General, which will flesh it out further.
The passage of the bill by the committee is set to ward off a coalition crisis that would have led to early elections.
