Ministers on Sunday allocated NIS 18 million to the Maccabiah Organizing Committee for its 2013 budget.

More than 8,000 Jewish athletes from over 70 countries will arrive in Israel to compete in sporting events.

Maccabi World Union CEO Eyal Tiberger  thanked the government for "its historic decision to give such solid support to these Games that will be the biggest Jewish-Zionist event ever staged in Israel."
