Ministers continue to switch as Lapid, Shalom take office

Finance Minister Yair Lapid took office on Tuesday in place of Yuval Steinitz, Israel Radio reported.

New ministers are being sworn-in, including former vice-premier Silvan Shalom who replaced Uzi Landau as Minister of Energy and Water. Incoming MK Gideon Sa'ar also took to office on Tuesday as Interior Minister, replacing Eli Yishai. Sa'ar said that he will initiate reforms in the Interior Ministry as he did in the Education Ministry, Army Radio reported.

Meanwhile, Incoming Justice Minister Tzipi Livni said Tuesday during a special ceremony with former Justice MK Yaakov Ne'man that she regards the peace process as representing a struggle for a Jewish and democratic state.
