The Ministerial Committee for Legislation voted down a bill proposed by Knesset Interior Committee Miri Regev (Likud Beytenu) that would take away tax breaks from NGOs rejecting Israel as a Jewish and democratic state Sunday.

Zionist education NGO Im Tirzu called the vote against the legislation "the death of the Zionist left," saying the bill would have reinforced the basic values of Zionism.
