Ministry: Record number of tourists visited Israel in 2012

The Ministry of Tourism on Sunday released its annual report showing that a record number of tourists visited Israel in 2012, Channel 10 reported.

According to the report, 3.5 million people visited Israel during the calendar year, an increase of 4% over 2011, and spent an estimated NIS 36 billion dollars.

Tourism Minister Stas Misezhnikov said the data "reflect the achievements of the professional and hard work of the last three years."
