In a future Middle East war, Israel's Galilee region would be targeted before Lebanon's capital of Beirut, Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah said in an annual speech broadcasted on Hezbollah's Al-Manar TV network on Friday.

Amidst an international debate of whether to list Hezbollah as a UN-recognized terrorist entity, Nasrallah insisted during his live speech that the only fault of the group is protecting the Lebanese people from their "Zionist enemy."

During an annual Ramadan gathering organized by the Islamic Resistance Support Organization, Nasrallah added that the US would never protect Lebanon since their loyalty lies with Israel, and that they would abandon any ally "for the sake of Israel."

According to Al-Manar, he also said in his speech that it is a "misfortune" to believe that Israel no longer poses threat to Lebanon.
