Prime Minister and Defense Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Internal Security Minister Gilad Erdan visited the Yamam Unit base Thursday morning to commend the fighters for their recent actions.
Prime Minister Netanyahu met with the unit's fighters and praised them for their activities in capturing the terrorists who carried out the attacks in Ofra, Barkan and Givat Assaf.
Netanyahu said he "was very impressed by the visit to the Yamam. This combination of Yamam fighters and Shin Bet, who provide excellent intelligence, gives us the best counter-terrorism unit in the world. All the countries come here and ask me: 'Bring them to us, we will learn from them.'"
The visit was also attended by Shin Bet Director Nadav Argaman, Israel Police Deputy Commissioner General Moti Cohen, Border Police Commander Yaakov Shabtai, the Yamam Commander and other senior officials.
"What Israeli citizens need to know is that anyone who attacked or killed any Israeli citizen in the past year, has been assassinated or caught," Netanyahu said, adding that "it is an unparalleled achievement in the world and it is because of these guys, because of their daring, heroism, creativity and commitment. In the name of the entire nation I say - we take off our hat. Good job."
Erdan added that the latest achievements by the Yamam Unit prove that  it follows through on  the imperative of "chase my enemy and get them and I will not return until it is done."
"I will continue to do everything in order to enhance the Yamam's ability to save lives and close accounts with terrorists," Erdan said.
