New Knesset caucus seeks to help English-speaking immigrants

MK Michael Oren (Kulanu) and former Yesh Atid MK Dov Lipman teamed up Thursday to bring their shared experiences as immigrants to the Knesset and help others like them, who made Aliya from English-speaking countries.
Their new caucus, the first ever on the topic, will work on challenges English-speaking immigrants face, whether its receiving the immigrant benefit package, tax issues, professional and driving licenses, struggles of lone soldiers and national service volunteers, the need for English-speaking bureaucrats in government offices, and more.
“Immigrants from English-speaking countries contributed immensely to building this country and continue to do so today,” Oren said. “Yet they still face formal challenges in integration and absorption. The caucus will address these difficulties and adopt concrete solutions.”
Lipman said he and Oren “will not rest until we solve the many problems and challenges related to the absorption of English-speaking immigrants.”
