Opposition leader Isaac Herzog on Saturday blasted right-wing leadership in the government for supporting the idea to unilaterally annex parts of the West Bank as peace talks with the Palestinian have broken down.

The Labor chief slammed Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for creating a vacuum of power in the government, and paving the way for certain ministers to proclaim their public support for annexing Area C of the West Bank.

Herzog rejected Economy Minister Naftali Bennett's proposal for annexing the area, saying such a move would lead "Israel to become a bi-national state with a Jewish minority and risk its political and economic status in the international arena."
