PLO official: Tillerson wrong, PA will continue to pay terrorists' families

The Palestine Liberation Organization will continue to make special payments to families of Palestinian prisoners, PLO Commission for Prisoners Chairman Essa Qaraqaa said a mere day after US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson claimed that the Palestinians intend to stop the payments.
“We will continue to pay them,” Qaraqaa said in a phone interview with The Jerusalem Post. “What Tillerson said is not correct.”
Tillerson told a US Senate panel on Tuesday that the Palestinians “have changed that policy and their intent is to cease the payments to the families of those who have committed murder or violence.”
Qaraqaa added that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas had informed him that the payments will continue.
“Abu Mazen told me that he will not give up on the prisoners and their families,” Qaraqaa asserted. “He said we will continue the payments.”
