A Palestinian boy age 12 was seriously injured on Sunday when he was hit by a car on Route 90 near Kfar Uja, north of the Dead Sea.

Eyewitnesses said that the car which hit the boy stopped for a few minutes and then continued on its way.

Police opened an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
