Penalty increased for destroying flag

The Knesset passed a law Monday night increasing the penalty for destroying an Israeli flag, making it higher than the fine for destroying an ally’s flag.
The legislation by MK Nava Boker (Likud) upped the fine from 300 Lirot to NIS 58,400 or up to three years in prison. According to Boker, “we can only ensure our sovereignty here through effective and strict penalties.”
