President Shimon Peres met with Jordanian King Abdullah II on Sunday in Jordan to discuss the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, ahead of their participation in a panel at the World Economic Forum.

The two leaders stressed that the two-state solution is the only viable solution to end the conflict, to achieve peace between Israel and the Palestinians and to increase security and stability in the region.

They discussed possible ways to bring to the resumption of peace talks in the region, and ways to overcome obstacles the peace process faces.

King Abdullah II stressed the importance of the Arab Peace initiative, while both leaders hailed the efforts of US Secretary of State John Kerry to bring to the renewal of talks.
