Those who have given up on peace are naive said former Israeli President Shimon Peres at a commemoration ceremony to mark 19 years since the assassination of former prime minister Yitzhak Rabin held at Rabin Square in Tel Aviv Saturday night.

In a report by Channel two, Peres said at the event:  "There are those by us who have made word "peace" a bad word. And there are those that  the phrase peace supporter is a nickname for the delusional, naive and unpatriotic. To all these I say out loud:  he who despairs of peace - he is delusional! He who surrendered and stopped looking for peace - is naive and not a patriot! " exclaimed the former Israeli President.
