President Shimon Peres released a statement condemning the violence against Israeli security forces in the Jewish settlement of Yitzhar this week.

"Since the creation of the State of Israel the IDF has been the most valuable thing to the Israeli people and we must not let a group of punks harm it," he said. "We must unite as one against this damaging phenomenon."
