The Police Investigations Department announced on Wednesday the arrest of police detective Aharon Naatchu for allegedly committing multiple sexual assault crimes, including rape, against minors.

Naatchu, 33, who lives in the north and serves in the Tiberias police department is suspected of raping a 13-year-old minor and of sexually assaulting several other minors.

His arrest, which occurred late Tuesday night, was extended for at least five days pending the filing of an indictment, by the Nazareth Magistrate's Court.

Naatchu allegedly seduced the 13-year-old girl via Facebook to meet with him and raped and sexually assaulted her during their meeting.

He made contact with his other alleged victims using his office and power as a police officer.

The PID also suspects Naatchu of committing extortion, threats and obstruction of justice.
