Veteran Kadima MK Haim Ramon on Monday announced that he was going to submit his resignation from the Knesset on Tuesday, to take effect on Thursday, when he will make his last speech in the parliament, which he promised would be on a personal rather than political note. Ramon's announcement brought weeks of speculation to an end. The former justice minister is going to join a company led by one of the country's leading entrepreneurs, while keeping a foothold in politics in the symbolic post of Kadima Council chairman. In his discussion with the media during his Monday announcement, Ramon stressed that Kadima should not join a Likud-led coalition, as it would soon take power as the dominant political party. He also praised current MKs, saying that the level of the parliamentarians and Knesset regulations had improved over the years.
