A car drove into crowds protesting Monday in Turkey's Gezi Park, killing a 20-year-old man in what was reportedly the first confirmed death in riots that erupted in the country over the weekend, Turkish daily Hurriyet reported.

Hurriyet cited the Turkish Doctor's Union (TTB) as confirming the death of Mehmet Ayvalitas after the driver of a car failed to stop for protesters participating in solidarity demonstrations.
