Report: PA arrested 805 Hamas members in 2011

Palestinian Authority arrested 805 Hamas members in the year 2011, the Ma’an News Agency cited a Hamas statement as saying.

According to the Islamist organization, 350 of those arrested had been previously freed from Israeli jails and eight were journalists. Sixty-seven Hamas members had been tried in court over the course of the year.

The report also said that the PA had returned four Israelis who had accidentally entered Palestinian areas in the West Bank.
