Secular Israelis call for new gov't to oust haredi parties

The Israeli public is becoming increasingly irritated by the current government giving in to political blackmail by haredi political parties, according to a recent public opinion poll.

Eight-three percent of the Jewish Israeli public is of the opinion that the struggle of the Emmanuel parents is not just and proves that the Haredi community rejects democracy.The opinion survey commissioned by Hiddush - Freedom of Religion for Israel Inc. also found that 75% support the Supreme Court's decision to abolish state stipends for married yeshiva students.
